The Maine Historical Wargamers Association (MHWA) is a not-for-profit that works to promote historical wargaming in Maine, as well as wargaming and boardgaming in general.
The MHWA runs three public game days each year, which are free and open to the public. These game days are a terrific way to introduce others to the hobby, to gather and play games, to talk history and toy soldiers. The general format is two gaming sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each session has multiple games in it so that we can offer a wide variety of options. These public game days are held at the Winter Street Center in Bath.
Additionally, the MHWA offers a few members-only events, including two Members and Guests Game Days, and an annual Members and Guests Holiday Party.
The cost to become a member is $35 per year. Members receive access to all of the club gaming events, plus these added member benefits.
- Huzzah! Convention t-shirt at club’s cost (could be free, could be $8 to $10)
- Pre-registration for game selection at game days
- Vote at stated MHWA meetings
- Only members can hold office in the MHWA
And, of course, you support the club as we expand our efforts to develop the hobby.
How is the money spent? It goes to liability insurance, the cost of game day venues, web hosting and related services, marketing, and supplies.
We could not function successfully without the financial support of wargamers, vendors, and hobby enthusiasts. Please consider becoming a member, and getting involved. Huzzah!
Ready to become a member? Great! Please send a check in the amount of $35 made out to MHWA
